What brought you to Elemental Machines, and why did you choose EM over all of your other options?

I worked for TetraScience Lab Monitoring before joining Elemental Machines. TLM was acquired by Elemental Machines, and I stayed at TetraScience to work on their Tetra Data Platform. In the past year, I have been in touch with Sal and others who joined the Elemental team. My former colleagues from TetraScience who joined Elemental from TetraScience described the work environment and clients very positively. I decided that I wanted to serve my former customers once again and meet the new Elemental Machine ones. This has been a very rewarding decision for me!

How would you describe the team you work with?

Our team is united in its mission to delight our customers. Having joined Elemental less than two months ago, I can attest to how helpful everyone is to ensure this mission is achieved. Everything from joining calls, answering many questions, training, offering advice, and just generally being supportive. We have a really great team.

What is it like to interface with Elemental Machines customers?

We have the best customers! I think our customers are so happy because we deliver what we promise – reassurance that scientists can trust their research is safe. We provide peace of mind and our customers are grateful for this.

What has surprised you about working for EM?

How important culture is at Elemental. This is such a wonderful thing to see. Many companies can be successful, but often at the expense of a healthy work culture. Elemental asks that each prospective employee fill out a questionnaire to ensure they hire people that fit their culture – they take this topic seriously and I can see this makes a difference already.

How have you grown personally or professionally in your current role?

I have previously been in sales for much of my career. Serving as a Customer Success Manager has allowed me to develop relationships that last years and to build trust that is not able to be established in a most often short sales cycle. I value getting to know my clients and to really understand their needs. I focus on ensuring they are successful instead of solely focusing on the sales transaction.

What skills would you say contribute most to your success?

100% listening skills. If I am listening to my clients, then they are successful and in turn, I will be as well.

What’s a day at Elemental that stands out in your mind?

A day that stands out for me is my first meeting with a former customer I had. We were happy to see each other. It is a testament to building trust, and delivering what you promise, when a former customer is glad that you are going to be their Customer Success Manager again!

What EM tools have been the most well-received by the customers you interact with?

Can I say – all of them?!  Seriously, all of them.  They are battery-powered, easy to attach by a magnet, and sleek and small.

What is your perspective of the future of Elemental Machines?

We are just getting started!  Much more is to come with EM. We are starting to get into the big Pharma space, more Enterprise customers are using us, others are interested, and we are building out our teams to grow with this type of demand. It is an exciting time to be at Elemental Machines and I am very glad that I made the decision to be employed here!
