About the role:

The Strategic Business Development Manager will support all direct and indirect selling activities, and drive channel partner recruitment and development.  The ideal candidate will have at least 3-5 years of direct selling experience, and 3-5 years experience recruiting, onboarding, and managing complex partner relationships within the Biotechnology space. The position will be based and focused on the European market, however supporting opportunities and partnerships in APAC will also be considered as they become available.

Direct Responsibilities: 

  • Create customer awareness Elemental Machine’s products and services.
  • Responsible for presenting companies' products and services to potential customers and closing sales. 
  • Research competing products, identifying opportunities to increase sales.
  • Assist in the development and execution of sales and marketing plans. 
  • Answer customers’ questions regarding product pricing, availability, features, and benefits.

Channel Responsibilities:

  • Establish productive, professional relationships with key personnel in assigned partner accounts.
  • Coordinate the involvement of company personnel, including support, service, and management resources, in order to meet partner performance objectives and partners’ expectations.
  • Proactively lead joint partner planning processes that develop mutual performance objectives, financial targets
  • Sell through partner organizations to end users in coordination with partner sales resources.
  • Lead solution development efforts that best address end-user needs, while coordinating the involvement of all necessary company and partner personnel.
  • Drive adoption of company programs among assigned partners.
  • Proactively recruit new qualifying partners. 


  • Post-secondary education - B.A. or equivalent work experience
  • 7+ years of direct and channels combined sales experience in a business-to-business sales environment.
  • Consistent track record of over achieving against quota.
  • Strong experience in all aspects of sales, including growth strategies, account development, and business planning. 
  • A well-defined sense of diplomacy, including solid negotiation, conflict resolution, and people management skills. 
  • Demonstrated planning, preparation and organizational abilities
  • Demonstrated capability to call high in an account up to and including the “C” level executives 
  • Able to build and maintain lasting relationships with corporate departments, key business partners, and customers. 
  • Demonstrated knowledge of sales and marketing techniques and principles
  • Flexible attitude, ability to perform under pressure.
