Elemental Machines Doubles Support for LabCentral

Dynamic lab incubator taps powerful smart lab system for operations team and resident companies

Cambridge, Mass., October 24, 2017 — Elemental Machines today announced it has expanded its commitment to LabCentral, a first-of-its-kind shared laboratory space for high-potential life-sciences and biotech startups. Elemental Machines doubled the installation of its smart lab technology, the Elemental Machines Sensory Network, to support LabCentral's recent expansion, which is being unveiled today.

The Elemental Machines system, an IoT-based network of wireless sensors and cloud-based dashboard software, gives the LabCentral operations team and resident companies unprecedented insight into lab operations. By monitoring critical equipment performance and ambient factors that can affect bench work (temperature, humidity, air pressure and light), the system provides visibility into equipment characteristics and issues, as well as environmental variations that can influence protocols.

LabCentral is currently home to startups and with its expanded capacity, will have the opportunity to house as many as 60 at a time. Elemental Machines has been a supporter of LabCentral since 2015.
